The significants behing this image is how Belgium came to Africa (Congo) and damaged the country trying to take over the trade systems. When you look you see the man fighting a snake with a human face wearing a crown.  The face with the crown symbolizes Belgium and the body of the snake is actually coils which symbolizes rubber, thats was one of the Africans main resources of trade.  Looking at the man being constricted tells you how Belgium cause alot of damage to Africa seeing as though the man is African.  In the background  you see the lady running with the baby and im guessing it symbolizes the innocent people who were trying to get away from the dangers of the fight.
